6 Months Later...

It's been 6 months. 6 long months. So much has changed. I can't believe how fast time flies by so slowly. Ha! But honestly... In the moment I think, man time is going by so slow. Waiting for Eli's applications to be done. Waiting for the acceptance letters. Waiting for us to make our decision on what University we will attend. Waiting for Payson to crawl. Waiting for Pay to walk. Waiting for Pay to grow out of this stage. Waiting........ And then BAM! Life smacks me in the face and 6 months have flown by!

Here are our updates.

Payson: He did eventually start crawling. I can't for the life of me remember what month it was though. (Should have journaled about it.) I want to say at 7-8 months he was crawling. He doesn't like sweet potatoes now. Won't touch them. He recently went through a stage where all he would eat is yogurt and cheerios. Oh! And of course he's "baba". To say he is obsessed with his morning and night time "babas" would be an understatement. Luckily, Payson is eating now! Whew. He likes pears, bananas, strawberries, cheerios, cucumbers, pancakes, yogurt, muffins, easy mac'n cheese, turkey hot dogs (peeled), pb&j's, and really....everyday I find something new he likes to eat. He is drinking whole milk now and its a blessing not to have to buy formula anymore! A few weeks before his first birthday he started to take a few steps. He is now 1 and he will take a lot of steps. But for some reason once he gets to where he wants to go he dives forward like he's falling. He had his first birthday party and had around 40-45 people come. It was so good to see everyone. We had a MickeyMouse Clubhouse themed party. My dear Mom did so much for that party. She is simply amazing. Papa grilled "Hot diggity dogs" and I made cupcakes. About 2 weeks after Pay's birthday Sheryll took his 1 year pictures. I haven't seen them yet but I am super excited to! Payson has so much personality! He loves to laugh! He laughs sooo much! Sometimes at nothing! He will clamp his teeth down together and just smile so big and breath out his nose so loudly! Hahaha! It cracks me up every time! He loves his M'Amy, Papa, Grandma and Grandpa. I know he will miss them when we leave. He recognizes them by name and also Sadie and Uncle B. He can say Papa, Mama, Dada, Baba, Uh-Oh, and More (mah!). He can clap, dance, wave, and blow kisses kinda. He can show me where his tummy, toesies, nose, eyes, and ears are. He LOVES to read! He recongnizes Jesus in every picture He is in and loves to point and His pictures. His favorite Jesus picture is in his room. His favorite stuffed animal is a doggy that Stie and Hansen gave to him for his birthday. His favorite blanket is any of his Minky blankets. Can't sleep without his Minky. His favorite toy is probably his slide and wagon that he got from M'Amy and Papa. He loves music. He is drawn to it. Especially when Eli or Uncle B play the guitar. He stops whatever he is doing, finds the source of the music, and "dances". He looks like he is strumming the guitar when he dances. I know he will be musically talented. He loves Blue. Seeing Blue ALWAYS cheers him up if he is upset about something! He is so much fun to play with and I just love him so much! What a blessing in our lives!

Eli: Eli did eventually finish those applications. Haha! We got accepted to Oregon and Clemson. Arizona communicated with Eli but in the end did not accept him. We took our decision to the Lord and felt good about it. Clemson it was. He has been working full time and can't wait for the last day there...which is in 13 more business days! He is so amazing. I love him. He continued to train for his half and full marathons which did take place. He ran his half marathon in ____. His full was quite the event. The week of this marathon he ran 18 miles and hurt his knee. Then when the day came for his marathon I received a message at 8:24 am that said "I'm done." "My knee gave out" That was at mile 16 I believe. I called him and I could hear the defeat in his voice. He was devastated. He couldn't even walk on it. I told him I would come pick him up. He told me he would let me know. He was sitting and was going to rest for a minute. These were our coordinating texts following our phone call.
Eli: "Im going to finish. But I'm going to walk the rest of the way"
Hay: "I don't know if you should do that. You might do permanent damage. I am worried. What is your thought process?"
Eli: "I'm jogging"
Hay: "No, please don't do more damage."
Eli: "Im going to finish under four hours"
Hay: "If thats what you want to do Eli, then I believe in you! I support you 100%!"
Eli: "I've got this, I love you"
Hay: "I love you! You can do it!"

He finished the marathon at 3 hours and 47 minutes. His average pace was 8:42/M. He is my hero! When I grow up I want to be just like him! His knee was injured pretty bad, and still hurts when he runs. Hopefully with time it will heal.

Haley: I have been keeping busy with wedding cakes and birthday cakes. Payson keeps me busy too. I have so much that needs to get done everyday and at the end of the day I can't believe I only crossed one thing of my to do list... some days not even one. I have learned to accept that sometimes Payson just needs me to play with him. Although it is nice to have some me time. I get my me time when I run. I have not lost any weight and I have not gained any weight. I am sitting pretty at the same numbers for what seems like EVER! We have decided that for my health and the baby's that we aren't going to try to get pregnant until I am at my goal weight. I feel like my weight is all that consumes my thoughts! I hate it. I want to be healthy. And I feel like I am doing a pretty good job. I am just not seeing results. Anyway! I am good. I am so blessed to have the family I do. I love them all. I love my Heavenly Father and the Savior. I hope I can teach Payson that.  I am happy, and I am grateful for the life I was given.

We did end up buying a house with the help of my parents! We are excited and everything is happening so fast! We move July 12th! South Carolina's not going to know what hit it! Wish us luck!
